"I met Patrick Stas in 1980. At that time, he animated dance evenings
in remote areas of southern Belgium. It was weird and funny to dance
to Pere Ubu, Throbbing Gristle, The Stooges, and so on at that time
and place. With two other friends, we started the group "Gheneral
Thî et les fourmis". To be able to publish our music independently,
Patrick created a label: "Home Produkt". The group released two
cassettes and performed only one concert. The group ceased but the
label continued, joined by two graphic designer amateur musicians:
Albert and Guido. After that, Patrick encouraged me to create my
own one-man band: "Jean-Claude Charlier et son Orchestre". I
released two cassettes on the label. Patrick continued to make music
under the pseudonym «Paul K» and often collaborated with - among
others - Denis Mpunga. At that time, the label initiated several
compilations and we regularly participated in compilations for other
labels, mainly on cassette. It is on this occasion that the label involved
a musician that has often tickled our auditory attention: Harald Sack
Ziegler. Home Produkt ended up asking him to make a vinyl release
of his music. Harald was thrilled - it was his first vinyl, but also the last
release on the label. Afterwards, everyone left for other horizons,
musical and otherwise. For his part, Harald never really stopped
making music. At the end of 2020, Patrick died of that damn Covid.
Two years later, a group of friends organized a tribute evening for
Patrick. Harald was present. Here is the recording of our respective
concerts.Thank you to Denis Mpunga who initiated and coordinated
this tribute evening, to all those who worked to make this evening a
success, and Harald, who directly accepted to participate."
